First Steps Nursery was established in 1994 and is a family run business with your child at it’s heart, we are committed to providing an enabling stimulating environment where all parents and children feel valued as part of the nursery community.
First steps nursery is situated on the edge of Dane park and is a short walk from Margate town centre and the famous Turner Art Gallery , the nursery operates from a purpose built converted church which is set over two large open plan floors with additional Pre-school classroom and Canteen Area , Air Conditioning is fitted throughout keeping all rooms at the perfect temperature throughout the day.

First Steps nursery has a structured management team with two full time managers and a SENCO for children with additional needs.
In addition to the twelve full time qualified nursery practitioners.
About the nursery and staffQualified Staff Team
All staff at First Steps are qualified to a minimum of Level 3 or higher and two staff have early years foundation degrees. All staff have DBS checks are first aid trained and hold an up-to-date safeguarding certificate.

Tracy-Anne from Kidz-unlimited photography is our registered photographer, In your child’s last term of nursery education, they will receive a graduation photograph before their transition into Primary School. As well as the usual annual Photo shoot session, Some example graduation photographs are available in our photo gallery.

Providing a stimulating environment and valued community
First Steps has always been committed to providing a stimulating environment in which all parents and children feel valued as part of the nursery community.
We have an open approach and are happy to show parents and children around our safe and secure setting at any time.
The nursery accepts free early education for all 3 and 4 year-olds which covers 15 hours per week or for parents who are both working 30 hours per week, First Steps also accepts the Free for Two’s funding for 2 year olds, which is subject to criteria checks.

Our prices
Nursery fees are charged by the hour @ £7.50 per hour. We accept free early education funding for two three and four year olds.
Safety
We have CCTV cameras fitted around the nursery and an Easydentic fingerprint recognition system is fitted to the main front door for parents.
Meals
We supply healthy snacks and milk, and follow a strict allergy policy. We make every effort to support children's dietary requirements.
