Pre-school is a large free flowing area that provides the children with the best opportunity to learn through a focused, rich and stimulating environment. All equipment is on low level so that it can be accessed with ease and practitioners are continuously providing opportunities to keep children motivated to learn effectively through playing and exploration. The nursery has the added benefit of an Early Years teacher that delivers focused activities with the children including letters/sounds, literacy and numeracy groups.

Healthy food and snacks
A healthy snack is provided during each session as well as milk or water, snack time is encouraged to be a social time for the children where they can be independent by self- selecting their own choice of fruit or carbohydrate and help to prepare it alongside an adult. We have a separate canteen for the children to use at lunchtime which has a large fridge to store lunchboxes, a microwave, kettle and toaster to prepare hot meals for the children if needed.
Sensory & creative area
The sensory and creative area allows the children to explore a range of media and materials to create their own art work such as paintings, sticky pictures and creative models. Sand and water is accessible daily and we also provide playdough, gloop, food tasting and a range of other various activities to promote their sensory experiences.
Well-equipped literary area
A designated book corner and cosy area is provided for the children to use so that they can develop their literacy skills by enjoying a range of books, audio books or select puppets/props to re-tell their favourite stories with their peers. We also have an interactive whiteboard that is used for story/singing time, music and movement sessions or group times with their key-person.
The pre-school has five, fully-qualified staff members and our fully-qualified early years teacher, Callie.
We have a home corner area which is where the children can expand their imagination and extend their learning through role play. A range of resources including a community play things kitchen, dolls/cots and high chairs along with dressing up outfits, shoes, bags and a full standing mirror are available daily and additional equipment is added depending on children’s interests.
Specialised toilet facilities
Easy access, low level sinks/toilets are provided which encourages the children to be more independent and promote their health and self-care.
Nursery allotment trips
The Pre-School children also benefit from regular trips to the nursery allotment on the nursery mini bus to participate in gardening, growing and exploring the outdoor world and the insects and mini beasts that live within it.
I cannot recommend your nursery enough. In three years of Gracie being in your care, we have never had a bad day. You are all great teachers; thank you so much.
You have made our daughter’s path into school life the best experience she could have asked for. Thank you all so much.
