Why Choose First Steps Nursery?
First Steps is committed to providing a stimulating environment and valued community
First Steps Nursery, established in 1994, is a family-run childcare facility operating from a purpose built converted church. First Steps has always been committed to providing a stimulating environment in which all parents and children feel valued as part of the nursery community.
First Steps Nursery is set over two floors and is situated on the edge of Dane Park, just a short walk from Margate town centre & the Turner art gallery. The nursery also has two outdoor play areas.
The Nursery is Ofsted registered for 100 children and is open from 07.30 am until 17.30pm Monday – Friday for 47 weeks of the year. First Steps is closed on Public Bank Holidays and for two weeks during the summer. First Steps is also closed for a two week period over Christmas and New Year.
We support children with learning difficulties and disabilities and children for whom English is an additional language.
The nursery has fifteen staff, and the two managers all of whom are qualified in early years and hold a current DBS check. All of our staff members are first aid trained.
Viewing our facilities
At First Steps Nursery we have an open approach and are happy to show parents and children around the setting at any time. If parents wish to make an appointment to view the setting we are more than happy to do so.
Secure and well-equipped facilities
Our excellent facilities include full CCTV coverage, Easydentic finger print recognition for entry and exit, fully qualified caring staff, outside front and rear garden areas, and a separate sleep room.
Free early education
The nursery accepts free early education for all 3 and 4 year-olds and also accepts the Free for Two’s funding for 2 year olds, which is subject to criteria checks.
All funded children receive 15 or 30 hours per week free of charge term time only depending on there employment status.
